NATIONAL
TEEN ANGLER RULES FOR EVENTS
As with all Teen Angler Events Safety is always 1st
SAFETY:

All boats will meet Coast Guard Safety requirements. All
boats over 75 HP. will have a Kill Switch.

During all on-water activities, everyone in the boat is
required to Wear
a Coast Guard Approved life jacket whenever the combustion Motor is running
and in gear! There will be NO Exceptions! You will be
immediately disqualified if you do not wear your life Jacket! No Fish - No
Points - No Weigh-In!

No
overpowered boats: the motor on your vessel may not exceed The rating on the
safety plate!
Sportsmanship:
-
No Teen Angler is allowed to be sponsored! Any Teen that
receives $50.00
dollars or more in product or cash in any program year is Considered a Non
Amateur. Teen Anglers is for amateurs!

Teen Angler Standard will be adhered to at ALL times!
-
No one, but the Teen Anglers in the boat, will fish!
ANYONE fishing
for a teen will immediately cause that teen or teens
To be expelled! No
Exceptions!

There will be no off-limits to tournament waters, UNLESS
SPECIFIED BOUNDARIES ARE MADE BY TEEN LEADERS (prior to the
event) but
there will be no fishing in state or federal posted no-fishing zones. Do
not crowd boat ramps or gas
pumps or otherwise hinder Other anglers
or boaters access to the water! Remember the “Teen
Angler” way!

Non-parent tournament officials will do all pairings!

NO
HIRED GUIDES
Fishing Events:
Freshwater for Largemouth Bass:
-
Artificial lures only, all state laws adhered to. No culling of
dead fish, every
effort will be made to keep the fish alive for release after weigh-in. A
half-pound penalty will be imposed to any dead or
SHORT fish brought to the scales, plus the loss of the short fish!

Late penalty will be one pound per minute up till 15 minutes.

The
contestant will be disqualified after 15 minutes
Saltwater:
-
Live or dead or artificial bait may be used.
all state laws adhered to.
If
you don’t plan on taking the fish home to eat please keep it alive for release
after the weigh-in.

Participation and Eligibility:
-
You
must be a registered Teen Angler.
-
You must have provided proof that you passed your Boater Safety COURSE
-
You
must have registered for the event online. No walk-ups!

We must have a
signed copy of your release of liability signed by Your parents or guardian.

We must have
verification of your 2.0 GPA for the current semester.
-
You must have
attended one of the Environmental Learning Sessions During the current program
year.
-
You
will have completed at least 2 online education sessions or 2 Classroom
sessions prior to that event you are registering for.
Scoring for Regional
Opens:
All
Teen Anglers that attend an event will receive 10 points; those Teens that catch
fish will be awarded the pounds of fish X 10 points example:
Teen
Angler John Smith - 10 points for attendance. John caught FISH WITH A
TOTAL OF 12.84lbs.
attendance = 10 POINTS
FISH (12.84 X 10) = 128.4 POINTS
EVENT TOTAL = 138.4 POINTS
John
receives 138.40 points for this event!
The
grand prize for the Regional Open Championships, One each to be awarded In both
the Salt and Fresh divisions, Will be a 24 volt 74lb. Thrust Bow Mount, hand
control, Minn-Kota Riptide Trolling motor, plus other prizes to be announced!
